 About the book:

The monograph follows industrial and cultural heritage in parallel, illustrated with numerous drawings and photographs. The narrative of industrial heritage begins with the prehistoric stone millstone, the first mills and windmills to the modern steam mill.

"The book provides us with a comparative insight into the history of milling in different areas and meridians, into their specificities, but also into its continuous cultural relevance, without delving into the probably superfluous technical details of flour production. In this way, the book "Secrets of Duration" becomes a very important source for studying the intangible cultural heritage of many human communities around the world."  About the exhibition:

The exhibition on 25 panels presents the history and culture of milling and millers from ancient Greece to modern steam mills with a textual and visual narrative.

The history and fate of milling is organically connected with the history and culture of bread. Thousands of years of history and everything related to milling and millers is one an exciting colorful mosaic in time, space and cultures.

The texts and illustrations of the presented topics differ in terms of the depth of the treatment of the topic, as well as in their literary achievements. But this is precisely what evokes the dynamics and colorful mosaic, and at the same time a kaleidoscope, of the historical, technical and cultural heritage of milling. The milling heritage of Serbia and Vojvodina is particularly emphasized.
