The book represents a significant contribution to the preservation of the bread intangible cultural heritage of the population of Vojvodina region. With this publication, we wanted to show, in an unexpected way, through the topic of bread, the still vital wealth of cultural models of the peoples living in Vojvodina, and it is not small! Ritual bread preserves the collective memory and is a permanent connection with the fleeting and desired eternal existence. He is a constant companion of man throughout his life. Belief in the mystery that man can participate in the divine through consecrated bread has remained in all civilizations, cultures and times. Size, shape and decoration of bread and bread cakes tests depend on the purpose. The content of the dough, i.e. whether to use ordinary or finer flour, the first unleavened water (Christmas breads) or ordinary lukewarm water, whether to add fat, eggs, milk, raisins, nuts, honey or a coin, depends on what the bread symbolizes.
