On the occasion of World Bread Day, a discussion was organized to present the monograph The Bread of Serbian Heroes and Hajduks, as well as a commemorative postage stamp dedicated to bread. The monograph The Bread of Serbian Heroes and Hajduks explores the place of bread and plums in Serbian history, tradition, and culture. Special attention is dedicated to the Serbian military bread with prunes from the Balkan Wars and World War I, the diet of the hajduks and their favorite dish made of plums and corn flour, as well as folk beliefs and the health benefits of this fruit
